I didn't start dwdCOLLECTIVE to run a drop-in class. I started it because adults 18 and up deserve what competitive dancers get: real training, real choreography, a real stage. Whether you danced your whole life or you've never set foot in a studio, this is your company.

dwdCOLLECTIVE took the stage in A·Muse in Space, presented by Aric Barrow at Orlando Ballet. We danced an original contemporary modern piece: upbeat, full-out, built for adult dancers who wanted a real stage and a real room.
This was dwdC's first public performance. We'd been building toward it since we started, and it won't be the last. The next one goes up out of Exchange Dance this season.

Before dwdCOLLECTIVE had a name, there was this. Beastly Kingdom, staged in Aric Barrow's Amusing Spaces showcase in 2025. A stage full of adults in black dancing original contemporary work, most of them with day jobs and nowhere in particular to put this.
It worked. So I stopped wondering whether adults wanted this and started building somewhere for them to keep doing it. The Collective came out of this piece.

How deposits work
Costume and competition charges are deposits, not the final cost. The monthly amounts above start paying down the real total from day one. So by the time costumes are ordered or the competition slate locks, most of it is already handled.

Deposits are per routine. Both deposits are $25 per month for each routine your dancer is cast in, so the monthly total moves with the number of routines. The routine counts above are typical ranges, not fixed. Casting is the director’s call, and families get written notice before a change affects the bill.
Tuition, admin, and deposit rates shown are confirmed. Monthly totals vary with routines cast. Final balances vary based on the costumes selected and the specific competitions on the season slate, and are billed on top of the monthly amounts above. What a full season adds up to
Across the ten months of monthly billing, plan on about $3,000 on Prep, $4,650 on Elite, and $5,400 on Pro. That includes tuition, the admin fee, and every costume and competition deposit. Costume and entry final balances bill on top when costumes are ordered and the slate locks, and Dixon walks every family through their exact numbers first.

ProSeries is a full-spectrum competitive training program for dancers ages 5 to 19. Three tracks: Prep, Elite, and Pro. Each built around serious technique, artistry, and performance. This is your dancer's home for training, not an add-on.
Dancers train across all styles (jazz technique, ballet, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, tap, acro, musical theatre) with an emphasis on jazz and ballet technique as the foundation for everything else. Every class is designed by a working choreographer and director, not pulled from a syllabus.
This isn't a recreational program and it isn't a studio. ProSeries is a company. A dedicated training environment built to develop well-rounded, professional-level dancers who are as strong in artistry as they are in technique.
Why ProSeries
I spent five years as a competition director inside the traditional studio model. I saw what worked. I saw a lot more of what didn't. ProSeries is what I'd build if I could start from zero. So that's exactly what I'm doing.
Not a Studio
Traditional studios make their money from recreational classes and little kids. The competitive team is an afterthought, a revenue add-on, not the mission. ProSeries flips that. Competitive training is the mission. Every hour, every dollar, every decision is pointed at developing serious dancers.
Built by a Director
Every piece of choreography and the core of every week. That's me in the room. Specialist teachers rotate in for tap, acro, hip hop and musical theatre, but the vision never changes hands. I built this program and I'm the one running it. That's what "Dance With Dixon" means. 100+ competition pieces, nine years inside the competitive studio world, and every class here is designed by the person whose name is on the door.
Full Training in All Styles
Jazz technique. Ballet. Contemporary. Lyrical. Hip hop. Tap. Acro. Musical theatre. Your dancer won't specialize too early or miss entire genres. The emphasis is on jazz and ballet technique (the foundation that makes everything else possible) with real depth across every style.
Artists First
Trophies are great. I've won plenty. But I'm not training your kid to collect hardware. I'm training them to walk into any room and be the most prepared, most expressive, most professional dancer there. The trophies follow.

What is a placement class?
A real class with the company, not an audition in front of a panel. Your dancer takes it alongside the track they would be joining, so you both get to see the room before anyone commits. No prep, no pressure, no charge. Afterwards Dixon calls with a track offer and the chair is theirs.
How are tracks decided?
Age is the starting point and readiness is the decision. Prep is built around ages 5 to 9, Elite around 8 to 12, and Pro is 12 and up. The bands overlap on purpose. What Dixon sees in the placement class is what settles it.
What does a season cost?

When can a dancer join?
Any time. Placement is rolling for the whole season rather than a single audition day. Chairs remain in all three tracks, and Dixon sets up a placement class whenever you reach out.
Where and when are classes?
Exchange Dance Studio, 7409 Chancery Lane, Orlando. Weeknights, by track: Prep is four hours a week, Elite eight or more, Pro ten or more.
Is there a solo?
Every Pro dancer is offered one and accepting is your call; Pro also has a dedicated Solo Hour every week. In Elite, solo and duo placements are chosen with Dixon once your dancer settles in. Prep dancers take two group routines plus a solo or a duo or trio.
I believe in rigor with heart. Every class should challenge you, every rehearsal should push you, and every piece of choreography should mean something. I don't do filler. I don't do lazy. But I also don't do fear-based teaching. My dancers work hard because they want to. Because they feel invested, not intimidated.

Building a new home for dance in Orlando.
I trained at Utah Valley University and got hired by Disney Jr. Live before I finished my degree. I performed with professional dance companies in New York. And then I moved to Florida and decided to build.
For nine years, I ran the competitive dance program at a major Central Florida studio as choreographer, director, and the only person in the room every single day. I built it from 9 dancers to 23 across five competition seasons. My dancers earned titles at Groove, Inferno, Tremaine, and StarQuest. The program won ADCC Studio of Excellence. I choreographed nearly every piece, ran every rehearsal, directed every competition weekend.
Outside the studio, I toured nationally as a Tour Director with Fly Dance Competition. I've judged competitions, taught masterclasses across the country, and choreographed for musical theatre. I know this industry from every angle as a performer, a teacher, a director, and a judge.

Payments and Financial Data
When you register for a program or pay a fee, your payment is processed by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. Card details are entered directly with Stripe and are never seen or stored by Dance With Dixon. Stripe's handling of your information is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
Dance With Dixon uses Plaid to connect bank accounts to our internal financial and bookkeeping tools. When a bank account is linked, the connection is handled by Plaid: banking credentials are entered directly with Plaid and are never seen or stored by Dance With Dixon. Plaid accesses account balances and transaction history to keep our records accurate, and its handling of this information is described in the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. A linked account can be disconnected at any time by emailing us.
Where It's Stored
Form submissions are stored securely via Supabase, a cloud database provider with industry-standard encryption. Only DWD staff have access to submitted data.
Children's Information
ProSeries serves dancers ages 5 to 19. DWD Collective serves adults 18 and older. We collect children's names and ages only through parent-submitted forms. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children.

You may request to view, update, or delete your information at any time by emailing dancewithdixon@gmail.com.
